Your Hunt
At Old River Outfitters we want your hunt to be exactly that, "Your
Hunt". To make sure this happens, we work with each group of
hunters well before they arrive. We start by offering you the option
of coming to look over and scout the area you will be hunting before
the season starts. We also will send each person a questionnaire.
This will tell us the kind of area you like to hunt, what kind of
stand you hunt from and a few other things that will help us be
ready for you when you arrive for your hunt. You will receive a
"checklist" with the items you need to bring and some
others you may want to bring. We will also send you an aerial photo
of the area, so you can familiarize yourself with the land you will
be hunting.
Most our whitetail hunts are five day hunts. You will arrive the
day before your hunt starts. That day we will give you a tour of
the land and show you some stand locations. Mainly you will see
the overall layout of the land you will be hunting. We will show
you the prime areas of activity at the time, but the final decision
on where you hunt is going to be made by you. Remember this is "Your
Hunt". You will be hunting on your own. We will always be there
to assist in tracking and retrieval, but once you go into the woods
you'll be on your own. We will meet with you every morning and evening
to make sure that everybody is getting to where they want to be,
and help you have a successful hunt in any way we can. Everything
said here applies to turkey and deer hunting.
